OK, here we go....

I recently purchased a Norinco SKS-D (takes AK mags, 20 inch barrel, spike bayonet).

I've tried several different magazine types as well as different ammo brands.

When it pushes a round from the magazine and into the chamber the bolt doesn't close all of the way (by about 1/8 to 1/4 inch), and in won't/can't fire. This happens about 60 percent of the time. When it does feed correctly, and the bolt closes all of the way....BANG. I can also remove the magazine, pull the bolt back and drop a round into the chamber with no firing/ejecting problems.

Additionally, when this feeding problem does occur, the bolt is rather difficult to cycle in order to eject the live round.....like the round is bound up in the chamber keeping it from closing and then making it difficult to eject.

What do I do here? Can a gunsmith diagnose and repair this? Should I post this question in another forum?

Thanks,

TXAG
