Well i got my reamer and chambered the 6.5-06 and bedded . After i cut the chamber the case formed perfect. I glass bedded the barrel action in the Pendleton Glass stock i purchased off a Campfire Member. Now i will be off to the range to work up a load. If the rifle shoots good then it will be off for a Black T or Ceracoat finish. Remington LH Long Action , Shilen #3 SS Match Barrel, Holland Lug, Pendleton Glass Stock , Timney Trigger.

Is the top of the recoil lug a bit higher than the front receiver ring?

Go with the CeraKote finish, I did a lot of head scratched, and the CeraKote had way more benefits in my book.
In fact, I like it so much, I am starting a business using the CeraKote on firearms. (Got my FFL Friday in the mail).
Good luck with this project looks like a shooter to me

No, the Holland recoil lug is the same size as the receiver face. It looks bigger because i cut most of the shank off the barrel blank to save weight and make it taper similar to the Model 70 Featherweight barrel. I left just enough barrel shank to cut the tenon fit the recoil lug and thread for the 700 action. The barrel finished length is 24.5 inches. The extra halve a inch in case i need to re-crown.

It must be a shadow line in the reflection on the top of the receiver ring that's fooling me.

Nice looking rig, and the short shank treatment came out pretty well.

It is just the light reflecting making it look that way.
