I just got a POF with a 14.5 inch 11.3 twist rate AR and am wanting to load the 85 grain TSX for deer and hogs.

I haven't decided on a powder yet but I like hodgedon and have benchmark in stock.

Been trying 30 grains of Benchmark with Speer 90 TNT and Barnes 85 TAC X. The speer is shooting .6 to .75 moa and the barnes is spraying out 2 or more inches. Usually I have great luck with Barnes TSXs in my other guns but this one is confusing me. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Sam

Run your seating depth in. Start at .050 and keep going back. Some guns do not respond until you get well pas .100. Be aware that some guns have very small windows. I have a .223 that has a window .010 wide. It can shoot dime size groups in the middle of the window and 8 inch groups .020 off.

Some guns are easy. Some guns are hard. But... The TSX/TTSXs usually will shoot very accurately just matching the seating depth to the powder charge can be a PITA.
