I recently got a Remington 760 in 30-.06 from my Dad. The thing is, it's NOISY. The ejector port cover rattles like a Diamond Back whenever the rifle is moved. Are they all like this? Is there a fix? My buddy has a plastic one in his newer gun (1980?), but this one was a gift from my Mom in 1966. I'm going to keep it, just wanted to know if this was common. [color:"black"] [/color]

i have a rem 7600 in .270 . mine isnt very noisy . i actually think it is quite quiet . muzzle blast is very very very very VERY VERY loud in it . the people in my hunting cabin seem to think so too .

Does your 7600 have an ejector port slide cover and if so is it metal or plastic?

I have a M760 that was made in 77 and it has the plastic dust cover. It doesn't rattle and is very quiet(and accurate). I have no experience with the ones that have a metal dust cover. I see that you're in Richlands. That's not too far from my neck of the woods. I live in Havelock, where Cherry Point is located(sure you knew that). Was stationed here for a spell when I was in. Got out in 2000, good times.

I too have a 7600. Mine has the plastic cover over the action. I have zero problems with noise, and it too is accurate.
