Well, I struck out on my applications for tags in Wyoming and Colorado so now I have no Western hunt to go on with my wife and father. We were looking at the Sept 20- Oct 10 period to hunt. Anyone out there have any ideas on a western big game hunt that I may still be able to secure. Thank you in advance, Rene W. Cadene renewcadene@shaw.ca

Rene, left over tags will be posted on the Colorado dow web site about the end of the month. You can review the tags that are available and if any of them suit you you can follow the directions and purchase them. good luck. tom
Also depending on the unit you can get over the counter bull elk tags.

Are you looking for a do it yourself, or an outfitted hunt, I have 2 muzzleloader elk cancelation hunts left for a private ranch in NM, unit 9, that would fit your time frame. Pm me if you are interested. Toby Joe

Believe there are also left over outfitters licences in Montana if the guided route will work. If so, let me know as I have a good guy I can refer you to. TM

rene, Since you are a Canadian resident, why not look at Alberta or BC. Both provinces charge you a lot less for you tag than they will in the states. the fee for whitetail in Ab is $31 for REsident, 118 for non res Canadian and about 300 for non resident. Look up the web site for APOS Alberta professional outfitters, they will have links to several guys and you don't have to fight the US gov to bring you rifles in from Canada. Hunting out here is phenomenal compared to Ontario. I used to live near Ottawa.
Life's too short to hunt with an ugly gun.

Thanks for the responses. I'm looking into some of the above mentioned options. Thanks again!
