Ingwe That is probably the most impressive thing I have heard on the fire. I was excited when I saw one that supposedly belonged to him down in Taos.

The Bridger Hawken now resides in Helena, MT at the state museum. I got to take some measurements off it as I'm building one and I wanted it to be "right" in all aspects. Often described as a heavy, "clunky" gun, it is actually very graceful and proportioned correctly for a rifle of its size. Shouldering that one and looking through the sights and pondering it's time in Bridger's hands.......well, it was pretty damn cool, I'll tell you. I half expected a Blackfoot warrior to come around the corner, whoopin' and ready to raise hair..........

Gentlemen, I have been checking in every few months to see how this thread is still living; has anyone definitively determined which caliber is the best yet? I just gotta know!
