Stopped by for a visit a bit ago. The surgery was successful and he's in good spirits.
We had earlier discussed the financial impact of this and agreed the best way to deal with the bills is to find a money tree. As luck would have it, I actually found an Asian Money Tree at the grocery today and bought it for him - problem solved.
I have printed this thread out and will read your messages to him when I go over to visit this evening - I am sure he'll appreciate your thoughts. Thanks to all.
