Is that a Tasco? See, I'm just not OK with that. I had a "World Class" crap out on me... it was replaced... that one crapped out... IT was replaced... and that one lives in my gunsafe, retired due to absolute lack of confidance in the brand. I did just go Google it and read up on some reviews. A well-liked scope, to say the least! Hmm. Thanks for the heads-up.
The CENTER will hold.

Jeff,
They "were" TASCO, but not anymore as they are made under contract for SWFA...These are getting *really* good reviews as a value for money item...As I say they are being issued to US army snipers in Iraq and Afghanistan...
Regards,
Peter
I should add I had a similar TASCO World Class scope that crapped out just like yours, so no I would not recommend TASCO in any guise!

The super sniper series are nothing even close to a "normal" Tasco, whole different animal. If I wanted fixed I would have no problem running the super sniper in either a 10x or 16x.
I chose the falcon and Im grabbing another one. I shoot alongside plenty of glass that cost more than my entire set up (nightforce, USO, etc) and have no problem running towards the front of the pack. I will never say the Falcon is as clear as a Nightforce but it is as clean as any leupold I have looked through in the last few years and the comeups have yet to fail me with plenty of turret spinning.
My build is being finished soon (fingers crossed) on a surgeon action with no cost spared and it will still wear a Falcon....

Super Sniper isn't made by Tasco (anymore). SWFA owns the name. Build specs were per a military contract some years back.

MM, does that hold true on the variable SS that has come out in the last couple months? I seem to recall an add pushing it as a Tasco.

Tasco has nothing to do with the SS scopes anymore (even when they did they were good scopes). SWFA has them built per their specs. I would have no qualms running a Super Sniper if I wanted a fixed power or the new 3-9x.
There is no Army "contract" for SS's and they are not issuing them unless it is an individual unit purchase.

I don't think anything new has been made by Tasco in a few years since they went out of business. http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-3-9x42-Tactical-Riflescope-P41044.aspxShane

Two MOA adjustments are not enough to test repeatability.
