This past weekend was a disaster. While fly fishing with three buddies, our rods and the magnetic rod holder sliped off the front of the vehicle while we were driving down a back road. Before we could stop, we drove over two of the rods and one of the reels, completely demolishing them. We were all sick.
Orvis replaced one rod and reel for the cost of shipping--$4.95. R.L. Winston is going to do the same thing! Now boys, that's what you call a GREAT warranty and two exceptionally fine companies. Warranties and service like that will get you more and repeat customers !
By the way, I had a similar warranty service from Loomis about 4 years ago. I broke the tip off my 3 weight while fishing. Loomis even sent me a shipping container, free of charge. I had my new Loomis rod within a week. No charge. Ask me what rods and reels I recommend to fishermen.

I broke one a few years back and told the company (Fenwick) that I stepped on it. A while later , My precious rod came back not replaced, but REPAIRED!!
I was just an HMG, but was a gift and very dear to my heart. They probably spent more to fix it than to replace it, but that was my request.
They didn't even charge for the shipping! Catnthehat
scopes are cool, but slings 'n' irons RULE!
