have 2001 model. dummy light comes on at 1/4 tank. my gmc comes on at E. is this normal for dodge trucks?

Mine will start to light up when the needle is nearly on empty , though I've found there is quite a bit more fuel left than what the guage will indicate .

Brother in law has one and his comes on when he gets on E. According to his little computer (or what ever you want to call it) he usually has another 50 miles on that tank. Sounds like yours comes on a little early.

Cummins doesn't make fuel guages. Those used in Dodges are made in Mexico for Chrysler. Actually the problem is in the fuel tank sending unit. About one in three is defective. If you are having a problem with your's, your local Dodge dealer can get you another one just like it.
