Are the services that Lifelock and other companies of their ilk offer worth the fees?
After 6 months of being unemployed, I finally lucked into a job. In the few weeks that I've been working, I've had to give at least 15 different people my SSN for this or that. They've even got it printed on my time card. Makes me nervous.
What say you?

Unless you are working for a groups with 15 other John Smiths, your ss number should not appear on anything (time cards) that is sitting about and available to the public or your coworkers.
I've never heard positive review on any of the life guard companies.

The guy that started Lifelock was so "sure" of his product that he posted his SSN in all of his advertisements. It took about 2 months for someone to steal his identity. The only security with Lifelock is that they are supposed to help you when your identity gets stolen. They claim to prevent identity theft but that didn't work so well.
Deal with it.

What say you? I don't use lifelock.. But IIWY I'd not be giving out my SSN to anyone other than the human services office which does need it for IRS withholding.. As for it being printed on your time card? That's pure BS and it should never be there...
