I'm thinking about getting one of lilja's AR 740 barrels to build an upper with. I'm looking for something lighter than a bull barreled varmint gun, but with top notch accuracy. It'll be a scope only w/ floating handguard. Any downsides to this setup?

I and my son in law recentl bought Lilja's. Dan and his wife are great to do business with. I oreded the stainless target 16", SIL got the 20". Go to his website and take a look. I ordered on a Friday by phone, had it Tuesday.

This thing is sub MOA at 100 yards with Hornday custom. I haven't tried handloads yet. Heck even with Radway surplus ammo it is a great shooter. I put the ARFX buttstock on it and have a now discontinued Weaver 1x4x24 on it.

If you want it even lighter ADCO can flute it, come to think of it SIL said Lilja will do that to as I recall.
