Finally snapped a couple of pics of my favorite 22 practice pistol. It's a High Standard Supermatic Trophy in 22 LR. The little gun is incredibly accurate.

Most are.........haven't seen one with a barrel like before; a little light for my liking, but very nice, nonetheless. I have a Trophy with a 5 1/2" bull barrel & a 7 1/2" fluted barrel..........used it to compete with for a number of years.........love it !!!!!! MM

That gun came with a set of attachable barrel weights to make it balance as you wish. If you look close you will see the milled groove on the barrel.

Speaking of High Standard - did I dream it or did I read somewhere that another gun company has bought the designs, etc., and is about to re-introduce the High Standard pistols?

Hadn't heard that, but it would be great.
Good friend of mine is close with a lot of the top armorers around the country & worked one of the booths & Camp Perry doing work on H-S's & he didn't mention it.............
Sure would be a good thing for the shooting sport.

Okay, I didn't dream it, I read it a day or two ago in the new SEP 09 edition of the American Rifleman - page 42. Here is a link - apparently they have been at this a while but I didn't know anything about it. http://www.highstandard.com/

My Hi-Standard isn't all that fancy, it was my grandfathers HD model. One of the finest triggers I've ever had the pleasure to pull, like breaking fine glass. I use it for policing up after a prairie dog shoot.
It does have one problem though, the rear site notch is broken out on one side. Does anyone know where I can get another one or where I can get the one I have fixed? It seems like someone with small piece welding skills could handle the job easily.

I have a latch (not push-button) takedown Sportking with both the 4-inch and the longer barrel (not sure of exact length - longer than 6 inches). It just has fixed sights and in not a targe model, but it shoots very well and the trigger pull is excellent. It was my Mom's handgun up until the time she got a Ruger Bearcat.

Really not sure when it was made. It was a gift to my Dad from a friend who recently passed. My pop stated that he believed he got it in the mid to late 60's.
