Tritium would work at night. FO blinds my eyes vs accurate shooting and I can't stand that..... so no FO for me. The most important part of iron sights for accuracy is the front sight.... and there are reasons some shapes work better than others.

I use a tritium front sight post with a strip. It works well in lower light, and you don't need the glow in good light. Down side is that it only last about 12 years or so.

The only complaints I have with tritium sights are they are too wide and accuracy suffers.
With low powered scope they will glow in the scope picture at dark and is a little distracting.
I chose Trijicons and they have just a dot that will cause you to shoot high because it's not the top of the sight, Ashley Outdoors or whatever their name is now makes one with a stripe that would be better.

I recently changed mine back to standard sights. I also reccomend using only the front post, the rear sight is a waste of money.

I would use only the one with the stripe.. I"ve seen the dot and wondered how dumb that looked, of course at night combat ranges it probably wouldn't matter...
Never really ran many scopes and if so no irons... didn't think of that issue.

Width of front sight does not affect accuracy as many think. Thats only in your head.

It might be in my head but it shows in my groups.

Then again if I was trained properly with the right sight picture, you are probably right.

I used to refuse to belive it too... I've since learned... I prefer my sight to match something that I'm shooting at though, but it doesn't mean it has to be small so to speak....
