For the past year, a posting on "Gunbroker.com" has shown a Colt Light Rifle offered by the same guy in New Castle PA. The ad reads "Up for bid is a Very Rare Colt firearm, a Colt Light Rifle 30-06 Caliber! This does not come with the box. Built in the year 2000 and discontinued in the year 2000. Very few were built and these are starting to increase in price. Colt Sauer rifles were built for 11 years and they are going for 2 1/2 to 3 times their retail price. The Light Rifle built for less than 1 year! WOW!! Where will it's price go? All Colts increase in value so don't be bashful, even if you think you are overpaying, next year it will be a bargain. Buy it now and be happy."

A year ago, his minimum bid was $1,000 and it never sold (wonder why) when other Colt Light Rifles on the same page were going for $650. He's now changed his "Buy Now" offering to $1,250 while other Colts are going for about $700. He is still using the same working as above. (See: http://gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.asp?SearchResults.asp?SearchType=0&Keywords=browning+a%2Dbolt+ti )

There may be one born every minute, but this guy isn't the ONLY indiividuasl trying to find them all.

I just sold a 98% condition Whitworth .458 Win mag - with a great Redfield 1.5 - 5 scope AND a signed copuy of my new book, SEAL WARRIOR, for $995.00. I must be dumb because I saw another Whitworth in .458 listed for $2,395.00 on one of the auction sites. Wish that I could find dumb/rich folks with cash burning a hole in their pocket!

Found the ad.
That's the same guy who has a JUNK Remington 722 for sale and the price is ludicrous.
I remembered that a guy from New Castle, PA had the pos 722 for sale, and wondered if it was the same guy. It is.

Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.

I suppose that a couple years ago when they were selling for $350 those selling for $700 were looked at in the same light. Sadly, this guy is just a little ahead of his time. 2 years down the road they will be selling for a $1000....but not to me.

The past few gunshows I have been to, I have seen a table
with a couple of Remington 710s in .30-06 for 450 each.
I guess sooner or later someone will pay that price....

kind of like that guy(I think cabelas) that has the ULA 22lr on GB for $2500. You can buy a brand new one for $1300... Oh but that one is an early one. So stupid.

Maybe he loves the rifle but is under pressure from his wife..."I don't know why the dang ol' thing won't sell Shnookums!"

Maybe he's just repeating what he was told when he paid too much for the rifle...

Considering what some folks have paid for powder and primers on the auction sites, or agreed to pay anyway, it's no wonder that some folks think they'll get big $$$ for just about anything.

I sorta wish that after 3 consecitive months GB would require a sold payment and/or ban that listing for 1 year. Bet there would be an increase in penny auctions and you wouldn't have to wade through all the same ol' same ol'

Amen,
I got sick and tired of seeing that guy's POS Rem 722, month after month.
I collect 722's, so I get to see his rifle regularly...daily... tired

I appreciate the great price!
