Stopped by the store and found some RL-17 powder, and looked at a Bushnell 3200 5-15x40AO, which was $329.00. I was mighty sharp and clear. The AO worked well, just looking out across the parking lot 200 to 500 yards away.
And it is not much longer than a conventional 3-9x40 hunting scope, and not heavy. Any users of this thing?

I have that scope in the 4-12x40 version and I really like it. A great value, I think.

That likely would be an Elite 3200 series, and thus is a very good scope for the bucks. Have owned and used about 5 of these in variables, thinking now that I underrated them.

I have one on my varmit Rifel and it has served me very well. I have never had a problem with the scope.

Very good glass for the money. I had one on a .223 and it worked great, but I sold it to fund a rifle build.

I have two of them, they are an "unrecognized value". Both of mine track perfectly and the optics are at least as good as mid-range priced Leupold at a considerable lesser dollar amount.

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

Well, I've owned 5 of the Elite 3200's (including a 5-15X) - still have 1 (3-10X). I have not been as impressed as the other posters - thought they were good, but definitely not Leupold or Conquest good. They are heavier, not as much eye relief, less forgiving eyebox, and I had tracking issues with two, stuff on inside of lens on one - all 3 sent back, one came back scratched up, and they tried to charge me for fixing 1 of them - sold all but the remaining one that is on a .22LR now. Bottom line, although they seemed decent, I lost all confidence in them, so they had to go.

It seems like the small-caliber users are happy, the .223 shooters and varmint shooters.
Those like TXRam who had problems didn't say what sort of rifles they were using them on. Maybe they don't handle .30-06 recoil.
