I picked up two old scopes yesterday, one an early Weaver 330 and the other an old brass tube Winchester A5 or B5.
Both have 3/4" tubes and both look to have what seem to be knots in the vertical crosswires.
I can't imagine someone taking apart a scope to knot a broken wire, not even sure there would be enough extra wire to do this.
Has anyone seen this before?
thanks, Rob

are you sure they are not dots? Or can you see a actual "tied" not. Are the knots below were the wires cross in the middle?

I opened the Weaver and shot in some cannned air and that one was some dust that came out but one on the Winchester stayed put.Not a ranging dot, it's on the verticle crosshair, above the horizontal one. Looks like a knot with a bit of tag end.

I have replaced the wire in several of those old scopes and I can't imagine anyone tying a knot in one. I did it under an operating microscope.

Yeah, I'm thinking it wouldn't be possible, must be dust.
