Nice rifle and good groups with open sights. As others have said, add a scope, try some other ammo or handload and you have a fine rifle indeed.

I'm not one for buying non-american guns but had the urge earlier this year and bought the 452FS in .17HMR. I still haven't shot it but love the rifle.

Be hard to find a better classic combination than a full stock and a 6.5x55. Way cool. I've been looking to buy one in a 22LR for squirrel hunting.

Does your CZ American have the set trigger?

I saw one of those at a local sporting goods store and I was more than a little impressed with the set trigger.

Maybe I'll go get that one.

I am interested in buying a modern 6.5x55 Swedish (not military surplus, already have some). Something like a CZ-550 or Tikka T3, Sako, or similar. I am a real fan of the CZ-550 FS. ushunter, if you will experiment with bullets of various weights, you will soon find one your rifle likes a bunch. my 6.5 seems to like winchester 140s, and makes groups about the size of a quarter at 100yds.
