Looking for a bullet to use in my Stevens Model 200 22-250 Rem w/22" barrel & 1:14 twist using IMR 4895?

NOTE: I have used the 45 gr Sierra Varminter Spitzer and am finding a few of the rounds are "tumbling" down the range at 100yrds using 33grains of IMR 4895.

you are using a bullet that is too fragile for the velocity you are pushing it, or you need to verify your twist rate...

if it has a one in 12 or 14 twist, about any 22 caliber bullet under the 63 Sierra or the 64 grain Winchester should be just fine...

IMR4895 and a 22.250 barrel with a one in 12 or 14 twist is not a finicky combo...

I use a 50 or 55 gr Ballistic Tips with H-4895 in my Kimber .22-250.

My 22 250 has a 1/14 twist and 35 grains of IMR 4895 over a 55, 60, 63, or 64 grainers all shoot around 1 inch for 3 shots. The 55 grainers shoot the tighest but the other weights are not far behind. I cannot explain why, but I have had much better luck with IMR 4895 in my rifle than I did with IMR 4064, regardless of the bullet weight.

I use Win Brass, CCI 200 primers, and OAL is 2.395. The 64 grainer is running 3240 fps out of my 20 inch tube

any 50-55gr bullet should shoot well in your rifle. Don't try the bullets intended for .223 and .222 speeds as you can over drive them and they'll come apart.
