A census worker?

An ICE agent or a DEA agent or a BATF agent I understand, but a census worker?

My BS-O-Meter is wiggling.

Anybody think this is a false-flag operation designed to justify crackdowns on "domestic terrorists" like the folks here at the Campfire who don't like the idea of extra-constitutional Census demands?

I have only read of some of the questions on the census and from what I have read I will probably not want to answer some of those questions but killing the census taker seams a bit extreme to me. Will be interesting to watch the outcome of this one.

Nope, more likely some local found him bonning his wife and thought the "fed" inscription might throw the police...

I'm not saying that I personally know anyone that would whack a census worker, but I can guarantee I know some folks that hold them in the same regard as the ATF, FBI, DEA, and whatnot.

Perhaps the folks you could understand whacking a DEA agent thought the census worker was a DEA agent?

Your idea may make a good conspiracy theory, but I suspect not.

Maybe he was a snitch, in addition to being a census worker.

Maybe they thought he was from ACORN and wanted to pimp out their daughters.

Guaranteed he was going to turn over his findings.

When I heard the story I immediately thought snitch, but who knows. Maybe he was an ex-mob boss that was in the witness protection program, now working as a census worker

I don't know about Census Workers, but I can remember stories I heard during the 1980, 1990 and 2000 Census of disgruntled Vietnam Vets living like hermits up here on the Olympic Peninsula and in the Cascades who didn't want to be found. A lot of them suffered with some pretty serious PTSD symptoms very similar to those in the movie Rambo and are or were quit dangerous. I happen to know a couple of these individuals as I had come in contact with the while driving the DAV Van off the Olympic Peninsula to VAMC Seattle for treatment there.

Then again the reason for his death could be that in his canvasing the area he walked into a large growing operation and he was put down so he wouldn't blow the location of the grow.

You never know who or what you're gonna run into being an enumerator for the census bureau.

I did that for a gig once in Alaska and ran into all sorts of colorful characters, even had a .44 pointed at me once. Another guy said he was a chameleon and I couldn't see him.

Then there's the infamous quote from a movie: "A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti."

There could be dozens o reasons FED was on his chest.

I think they wanted to indicate that he was, in fact, given his last meal......

Based on location, they may have thought he had a pretty mouth.
