I need a good quality varmint/target rifle telescope. Sure, I can go buy one, but will need to sink the profits of maybe 3 good quality hunts into that. Much simpler will be to offer one quality plains game hunt to someone that has a spare quality varmint or target telescope.
Naturally if you have an �in the box� condition Carl Zeiss Victory Diarange in 3-12X56 I will offer more animals and hunting days for that than you would get for something of a lesser quality. I am NOT interested in an "El Cheapo NoName Brand" made in some obscure place: I do want quality optics, even if a used one, suitable for use by an experienced and good rifleman using an accurate rifle: In short, I do not want something that will be the weak link in the rifle + load + rifleman + optics combination required for successful varmint shooting at some distances. You can expect to get at least, at the very least, twice the actual value of your telescope returned as equivalent value, either daily rates or trophy fees, while on a plains game hunting safari.
I have good quality ethical hunting for totally free range grassveld animals, and some other species on fenced game farms - but these are most definitely NOT canned � in the central / western Free State of South Africa. Free Daily Rates, springbuck, blesbuck and steenbuck as well as wingshoting and varminting will be the �basic currency� in which I make my offer. Other grassveld species, like gemsbuck, black wildebeest and red hartebeest can also be considered as negotiable �currency� for this trade or swap.
