Everybody's mentioned the BLR, but the Browning BAR has its share of ugly too. It's hard to define though... you look at it, turn it over a few times, and think, "wow, this rifle looks like ass, but I can't exactly say why." I think it's mostly the receiver. It seems misshapen, or rather unshapen. It's a big rectangular slab with simply an ass-like appearance.

Also:
- Anything with a thumbhole stock.
- That horrific "patriotic" rifle that was being advertised in the gun rags a few months back with the red, white, and blue plywood stock. I even think it was a thumbhole stock, I guess just to clinch the deal. That one wins the all-time "Rifle I Would Be Embarassed To Use Even To Save My Entire Family From A Pack Of Starving Grizzly Bears Because It Is So Incredibly Ugly" award.
- Yes, Glocks. Why are they so outrageously ugly? Lord, even making the slide just a little taller would help.
- The new S&W .500 "Do I Feel Lucky?" revolver. Looks. Like. Ass. And since it has no reason to exist anyway, I suppose that's only fitting.
- Somebody mentioned Webley Revolvers. Now IIRC they were not strictly WWII pistols, so they're fair game. They look like hell. Let's face it, we love you UK 'blokes', but the handgun world would be a lot less gruesome-looking if you just left the designing to the US.

The Remington 600 with stubby barrel and horrid stock with the low-grade multi-colored picture...

Probably my very own .338 after a typical 4-6 week season, it looks like a bucket of rusted nails in a tupperware bowl! Always clean it up good afterwards but after so many years patches of bluing are gone, the stock is beat up pretty good and the blue is worn off the bolt handle. Oh well I buy em to use, not for the aesthetic factor, but she was sure blue and shiny once upon a time. 1ak

Remmie 673. Ugly both times around.

But anything with a BOSS or a visible break is ugly. Ditto bunghole ... I mean thumbhole stocks.

The Nylon 66 is, to borrow a phrase from my late Grandpa, "so ugly it's cute."

MM's HiPoint .45 is one incredibly ugly piece of whatever. Uglier than the hammer behind it.

Glocks -- they may be good, but they're ugly. Fugly ugly. Actually H&Ks are ugly.

The SKS and the AK are about tied for ugly.

Oh yeah, let's not forget that .22 "Surviver" or whatever it's called that breaks down and stows in it's own stock.

Broom handle Mauser pistols.

Martini action rifles.

The new Benelli crap.

The new Sako -- is it the TRG? Shame on 'em.

Boat paddle Ruger bolt actions.

Derringers.

I've always wanted to gouge my eyes out after looking at the stainless Ruger 77 MkII in that hideous indented plastic stock.
Brian Pearce just published an article in Succesful Hunter that has a pic of one if you need to torture yourself.

The shame is the blue/walnut 77 MkII is a very nice looking rifle.

Krag converted to a pump action that was illustrated in the American Rifleman back in the 1930s. Quite a sight.

Momma had a rhyme that applies.

Beauty's only skin deep,
Ugly's to the bone.
Beauty fades away,
Ugly holds it's own.

None of you guys ain't even close, except for the Lee Ensfield.

I'm here to tell you that my Mossberg A-1 .22 rifle takes it hands down.

The sucker shoots pretty good tho, despite a mechanism that works about as well as it looks! UUUUUUGGGGGLLLLLY!

Heck, burglers leave money, requesting that I do something about the thing!
