The Hornady dies load straight but the collar lock on the decapper rod sucks big time. It takes a wrench to tighten or loosen it and then it will still slip, at least IME.

I used to work in a machine shop, so little nuances to tools and parts like that are something I kind of got used to. I forgot about that little deal. My fix for it was to degrease thoroughly, then I bead blasted (Copper Slag) the stem in the area where it rides in the lock collar. Never had a problem since.

I did notice that this new Hornady die set has "The New and Improved Zip Spindle" Which is threaded, like everybody elses.

The reason I accumulated a few set of Hornady dies was that I found myself needing a tapered expander, and they come stock in the Hornady's. Makes it super easy to neck up Lapua 243 brass to 260 laugh

Well, I talked myself out of RL15 and loaded the 150 Game Kings with IMR4007ssc instead. I guess I felt RL15 would be better with the lighter bullets, so I'm going to save it for the next time I load the 120 BTs. The results with 4007 were really good up to 45 grs. Above that (I went up to 46.5 grs.), velocity was where I had wanted it to be, but accuracy just wasn't there. I'm just shy of 2700 with 45 grs in the 22" barrelled Hawkeye. That should work fine for our purposes.

If you have it available, try Winchester 760 pushing a 120 or 140 gr. Ballistic Tip. I am using Mag. primers. My load is worked up to about 48 gr. and is shooting great, and very accurate.

Oh, and agree with the Redding dies. I bought the 3 die set, and absolutely love it. Will be buying more.
