They didn't do spike camp, so they are all hunting from base camp this time around. Everyone is happy and healthy. Dave, RWS, and CBF saw some elk yesterday while scouting south of camp. Weather is beautiful. No elk to report of yet.

I was thinking about them just a little while ago on my way home, I hope they all have luck, definitely a good sign to be seeing elk!

How long are they out there for?

Yeah I hope they all have good luck and can shoot an elk.

They will be gone long enough for me to clean the garage, dump some used oil in the tank, get some straw with Brownie and spread that over the drainfield...that's how long they will be out there for.

Just kidding, I'm not really sure when they will be home.

Looks like Dave left you with a pretty good "Honey Do" list Pam.

Wow....he's brave. He gave you a honey do list and then went hunting.

Seems to work the other way around here. I like your arrangement better.

hey Pam, any updates from the Elk hunters?

Dave text me around noon today. Here's what it said: "Cold here today, me, RWS, and CBF up on horse ridge. We just saw one, RWS couldn't get shot tho."

I sure hope they can see some more and at least get some shots off.

One thing I've noticed the past couple of days, the house stays a little bit more tidy while Dave is gone. I think he's the root to the whole 'messy' house problem I deal with.

Just checked these off my Honey do list:
Windows done
Cars Winterized, winter mats installed
Patio furniture put away
Hoses drained and put away
Lawn mowed

Now I have to wait for all the leaves to fall so I can finish raking and get the gutters cleaned. Than it's one last thing...Put up the Christmas lights.

Do you travel?

You bet. Would have to bring the Mrs. though as she's the one that washes the windows. I just take them down and put them up. She cleans car mats (Carpeted) pretty good too.

SIL shot a doe this weekend with his bow. He and my daughter are cutting and packaging the meat this PM.

Absolutely bring the Mrs...have plenty of car mats to clean, windows, and all of that sort of stuff.

Still hoping for an elk but haven't heard anything since noon.

Holy crap!!!! They went from nuthin to full in a day. Way to go.

I have been reading Northern Dave's thread for a long time now, and I figured I would finally join in on it all. I'm Dave's cussin. It was my brother that lost his life in the plane crash. I think it is a great thing that Dave has done. The hunting "shack" is great! And in his opening statement he was right. He looks, talks, and thinks like my brother. It has been very hard for us all, but I know he would be so proud. It is just amazing what Dave has done! I have only been up to the shack a couple of times, but I hope to go up there more often. I'm so proud of Dave and I love spending time with him and his family. And I'm very glad to hear they did good elk hunting.
