My 13 year old daughter has been shooting rimfires for a while but hadn't expressed any interest in anything bigger or louder. This past week while I was starting to gather up the bits and pieces to get ready for hunting season she asked "What would I have to do to go hunting with you?" I told her she'd have to get used to a bigger rifle. So Sunday we were off to the range with my 99A .243 A box of shells later she was still grinning from ear-to-ear. Looks like I'll have company on the ride to hunting camp this year.

Can't think of many better ways to spend the day.

Excellent. Glad to hear you'll have a new hunting partner this season. Every day in the field with my kids has been a day worth remembering.

Your story makes me wonder how many kids wouldn't have the nerve to ask the question your daughter did: "What would I have to do to go hunting with you?" Makes me think that we should all let it be known that we'd love to have them come along.

Cherish each and every trip with her. My daughter hunted with me from the age of 12 until she left for college and I can't tell you how much I miss those trips with her. I'd love nothing more than to have her move back and go hunting with me again. frown

Thats great!
I took my kids hunting and fishing all the time and now, even though there lives are busy, I get a calls like "do you think the fish well be biteing this weekend?" or "you know it's rabbit season and..." . As you stated so well " Can't think of many better ways to spend the day"
