The Tamaracks this time of year look cool. I went out Saturday and yesterday evening to check a couple of blinds and get rid of some apples (every other year the tree in the front yard really produces). With the darkening sky and the yellow and golds left on the trees it was like the woods were glowing. Judging by what the forecast is calling for Friday into Saturday could bring us 6" of wet, heavy snow. My camp bud wants to sit in his tree stand this weekend, I don't bow hunt so I'll keep the camp warm.

I plan on heading out to one of our fields we hunt this weekend and make sure the stand is all good to go.

Then take the kids down to the gravel pit for some range time.

Hopefully all the rain will be done by then.

Take care of those kids! I heard a show pig (what, exactly, is a show pig???) came down with H1N1 in Minnesota this week. First pig in the US to get it. Now that is kinda ironic right there, isnt it?

Okay, so I move up here to God's country and life is good. I tell myself I can go hunting whenever I want. If it is too cold or too hot, I can stay home as I can always go tomorrow. Great theory.

Pheasant opener. We are big pheasant hunters so of course we are gonna go. In the snow and wind.

Last Friday, my brother Brian had the day off from school, so we went hunting. In the rain.

Today, a friend from the cities is driving up to go pheasant hunting. In the rain.

By the way, we may stop building our house and instead try and build an ark. mad

Someone, anyone, please, PLEASE, shut off the rain!!!!!!

Wabo,

I'm sorry to hear about your young one. I hope she recovers quickly.

Grizzly Bill,

I'd snatch up that Tikka in 6.5x55 real quick! The Tikka 6.5x55 is not easy to come across, especially in wood. Too bad about the wood being sub-par though.

Wabo, sure hope kiddo bounces back quickly. My grandson had the crap a week ago. His fever finally broke last weekend.

Azar. I have to sell my 450 marlin before I can get anything new. There will be a 6.5 in my collection some day.

Thanks guys I was giving her Thermaflu now after the Docs we have switched to Tamiflu. She is sound asleep once more but to me that is better for meds to work anyway.

Oh yes Dave the trees are beautiful, look much the same here too, wish the rain would stop as well. Crops are SLOWLY coming out this year, shellin corn 150 feet from my house now. Guys are muddin around trying to beat this next system coming in tonight.

Want me to bring the Alumacraft up....we could run palner boards in the moat. Bottom bouncers and reef runners.

We'll do it up right.

Get that tractor good and stuck, and we can use it for a deer stand.

Started coming down heavy here about 11:00 AM and hasn't let up since.

Wabo make sure those kids stay hydrated, Water, gator aid and the like. Closed another school (Crandon) yesterday due to the flu.

I think that is the second time for Crandon isn't it Bill?

Raining like a mofo here. Suposed to get an inch.

As long as it stops saturday noon, I don't mind the rain. Wouldn't break my heart if it switched to snow either. smile

Think your right about Crandon Tom. WIAA ruled that the girls soccer team had to forfit there last 2 games due to the school closure. Rule is that there can be no team sports played if school is closed for illness.
