My first posting here, so please excuse any mistakes. I have just located a Savage Model 1895 30-30 lever action, but cant find any references to it on the net. Can anyone tell me about this rifle? Thanks. RobD

Thanks; On talking again to the seller, he had misread the stamping on the barrel...he was always under the impression it was an 1895, but on questioning him, turns out its a Model 1899....mystery solved!!! RobD

A true 1895 will have a serial number under 8200!

So I should make a second appearance so it doesn't look that way???
I'll go back to the Savage forum now, Rick's gonna be mad when he finds out someone left the door open and I got out!!!
