I am so glad I am not the only one with a 30-06, but I am getting the feeling I should trade it in for a 270 or 308? Any thoughts?

I have a love hate relationship with my 264 win mag mod 70 XTR! Just came back from range and have serious back blow where the projectiles are seated toooo far forward. Cant even close the bolt. Cases (shoulders) are all balloned out. Not happy! See how we go next week. Got me buggered how you guys put photos up! I am havein a crap day!
Our F1-11 gets retired this week. What a shame.

Bob the barrel, swap stocks, poke good bases/rings on there and you'll perhaps have something. We'll save flushing SP's,for later
That rifle should be named "Loose Ends"..............

What bullet did you use on that deer from your .308? Remington 150 grain CoreLokt - standard factory ammo.

I'm glad to see a lot of people hunting with WOOD stocked rifles...and a lot of 270, 30-06, 308 classe rifles.
I have made a few changes in my gun safe recently but I think the hunting rifles I have a long term contract with is a New Model 70 FW in 270Win and a Savage 99 in 308 that was given to me by my grandfather.

I have this Brno 22F 8-57 up here by me. What a handsome rifle for the woods. It brings joy to me just looking at it and handling it. To each his own.
