I just picked up what I thought was a good deal. Not so sure now. It is a Model 70 XTR Sporter in 270. First question is are the two screws in the trigger guard suppose to be the same size, if not, what size goes in which hole? Second, there is a floor plate, but know spring, follower, etc. Is this supposed to have a box magazine or not? thanks in advance for the help.

Both screws in the trigger guard are approx. the same length - however most XTRs have a 'crowned' head bolt and a 'flat' head bolt that fits in the trigger guard.. The flat headed one goes under the floorplate by the latch..

You're missing the spring and follower? Magazine box? Yeah, you need all three..

Thanks Redneck, So does the Magazine hold the spring and follower? If I where to purchase a Magazine box, would I need to specify the spring and follower, or would it come with it? Just trying to make sure I understand.

Thanks, Jeff

Alright, I just took the screws out and they are different lengths. One is 1 5/8" and the other is 1 7/8". Other than the length, the are exactly the same. HELP

You will need to specify the cartridge and (if you call Winnie) they'll want the S/N to ensure they set you up with the correct package..

The longer one should be under the floorplate latch. The shorter of the two should be at the rear tang.. The third, (and shortest of all) goes in the floorplate hinge..

The one that fits the rear of the guard should have a yellow or red thread locker in the threads.
