Dick's carries firearms, but only the basics, and they have a really poor selection of those, at least here in Louisville. Just the big seller chamberings, and mostly in Savage package guns and a few Remingtons. They DO seem to carry a lot of treestands and various items of like nature, but they are mostly one of those damned "clothing and shoe sporting goods" stores" with outdoor sporting items a second thought. Our Galyan's wasn't much better for clothing and other crap, but they had an excellent selection of firearms. I will just have to go to the other gunshops here in town, there are several, as I won't go to Dick's, I don't like the atmosphere, and the clerks are better at selling sports bras than rifles.

Ratwhacker - that was the same feeling I got from the Dicks in Green Bay. I hate going into a "Sporting Goods Store" only to wade thru sports bras, weights, soccer balls, tennis rackets only to find the "gun depaertment" and see 1 Sucks in 270, an 11-87, 2 ruger 10/22 and a used 870 on the rack. A kid letting me know that if I am willing to wait they can order me one and I get to pay full MSRP.

Here in Binghamton, NY where Dicks originated I won't go in their two stores more than a couple of times a year. I remember one night I called and asked about a set of rings I needed and was told they had them. The next morning I went and found out that they not only didn't have them they didn't even carry what I was looking for. I know they don't have handguns anymore, they don't have used guns anymore either. It is really a shame as they use to carry reloading supplies and all and I use to buy a lot of stuff there.
Good Shooting,
George
