Quote his wife: "Oz was a phenomenal husband and loving father" I hope his wife and children are taken care of properly. God will take care of Sgt. Schmid. The pics I've seen of him just wrung wet with an air of confidence, dedication and professionalism. RIP.

I don't know a single service member who went to war for their elected leaders. People serve their country because they love their country. Hitler was a madman who brought about the total destruction of Germany but that doesn't make those who died fighting for Germany any less valorous (in most cases).
Done.

So, criticism of current political leaders is acceptable to you but not criticism of past political leaders. I edited my post and it was the right thing to do but I don't understand the double standard.
BTW the British equivalent of the CMH is the Victoria Cross.

I edited my post and it was the right thing to do but I don't understand the double standard. A little presumptuous. Who said there was one? I suppose the relevancy here is that he did not die under the previous administration, nor is the conflict you cited (now deleted). Notwithstanding that actions of current political leaders are cause for current deaths, something that past leaders no longer have a direct ability to change. Start another thread, bro.

The double standard comes because you made no mention of the fact that Mannlicher injected politics into this thread and not me.

i hope he gets the british equivalent of the congressional medal of honor. I would say he deserves the Victoria Cross,if thats applicable, or the George Medal if it isn't...
