I can bring my press and scale and some powder with me, looks like I'll be up there around 2 on friday, we would have time to load some quick, as long as you have a sturdy place to mount the press

no that's cool man, i plan on grabbing a reload kit from a friend of mine after deer season so I can try my hand at reloading & I'll likely start with loading for that 264.

The reload stuff I have so far was either gifted to me or sold to me for probably less than what the shipping itself costed from campfire members here.

"Magmarc", "Avagadro" and "Bend" have all got me on my way with what I have so far.

I have a lee press and dies for 264WM, 300WBY and 30-06

my buddy has a full RCBS kit that he just doesn't use. he told me before i buy anything to just come get his stuff to get started. He says that way i will learn what i like & what i don't like & I will have a better idea of what i'm looking for when i go to buy myself a kit or equipment.

prolly 10 miles straight northwest then east and west again. it was an old bugger with a detacheable mag. i forgot that one. so it wasn't a single shot. i didn;t look close. 190 i think is what he wanted for it.

i think thats prolly what it was. i didnt look that close, wasn't much interest of me. i'll stick with what i got for now.

it's a good "loner gun" to have around.

as in you can borrow it out & not worry about it cause nobody loves a 340 anyways.

Sounds like we may be using boats though more then boots to get to our stands.

A lot of those old 340's were great shooters. Nothing to look at, but they kept venison on the table. Wouldn't be a bad "first gun" for a youngster just starting out.

Wife's uncle uses one if he's going to still hunt. It is really light, and he claims he's never used more than one shot..I believe him too.

Few years ago, he shot a nice 10 with it. Ran about 30 yds and dropped.

An 8 pointer, 4 pointer and a button buck are standing by a field browsing on acorns.

8 pointer says, 'I'm happy with my 10 does, we're really getting along.

4 pointer says, 'I'm happy as heck with my 5, they really take care of me!'

Button buck says, 'My two are alright, better than nothing I guess.'

Then all of a sudden a GIANT 25 point non-typical buck walks out into the field.

The three bucks had never seen anything like him before, they were in awe.

The big buck made a huge scrape and marked it, rubbed a phone pole and snapped it off at the ground!

The three bucks looked on in amazement.

8 pointer says, 'I could probably get by with 4 does... Who really needs 10 anyways?

4 pointer says, 'You know.. come to think of it, I could only really use one or two of mine!'

The button buck was silent, the other two bucks look over to him in confusion.

Suddenly the yearling runs out into the middle of the field!

He rips and tears up some grass... marks it all over the place, snorts & wheezes, rubs his head raw on a tree and chews a lickin branch clean off!

Then he runs back over to his two buddies.

His friends immediately jump him, 'What the heck are you doing!?'

'I'm just makin' sure that big boy knows I'm a buck!'
