Question for some of the experience?
If you were going to have a Ruger 77 flat bolt rebarreled by either pac nor or montana rifle company, which would you prefer?
It is a short action and I am going to rebarrel to 260 rem.
I dont have a local smith with the capabilities to do a re barrel so thes are the ones that im interested in.

Thanks in advance

The USPS or UPS, Fedex can deliver anywhere. Why not ry someone who does this kind of stuff. You can find them here. I have done hundreds of barrels.

PM Redneck. I know he likes M70s so ask him if he'll work on a Ruger. If not, look into IT&D Custom Guns. IT&D typically has Douglas barrels in stock. All others he'll order for you. Great service, good prices for both.

If Redneck or Jim Kobe can't do a good job, I would punt.

+1 for Jkob as he has done a number of barrels for me in the past and will probably do three more for at least this winter for another season of competitions.

Fast affordable and accurate not much more to ask for.

PacNor does great work and would be my choice.

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.
