Buy it......I just bought this old early 50's SC in 35 Rem. last week...it had no butt plate on,the stock was a mess, the sling swivel was in the spot where the bullseye should be.I had an extra bullseye so I re-did that, put the sling swivel in the correct spot and also had an extra buttplate,re-did that also. Then re-finished the wood.
Took it to the range this morning and took 2 shots with it at 50 yards at a piece of blue masking tape 2in x 2in and hit it both times.

It's now my new back up Marlin smile

The next 336SC in 35 that I find is coming home with
me, would prefer one already drilled and tapped.

I'm pretty sure Marlin started tapping them in 1956

Nice rifles. You did a good job. Don't see too many Deluxe SCs around here either. I like them both.

I didn't buy it yet. I've found a Marlin 336 SDT at a different shop, and now I'm really torn. The SDT is 1 of 500 and the price reflects this at $799. But what a sweet little rifle.

I would still take the SC in .35 you talked about. But you are the one who really knows what you want but it's like being torn between a blonde and a redhead.

I would take the SC in .35 also...But I love the 2/3's magazine look on the SC's and the early A's.

I passed one up 6 or 7 years ago for $300 and I still regret it. There were cosmetic issues, but the action and bore were good!

Hello. I hope the Model 71 I bought from you will speak again this year. One shot, no tracking. I still have the 64 also.

Best wishes for the hunting season and the holidays...Bill.

$360 would be a bit high in my area of PA, but since they ain't making any more of 'em and they really are neat little carbines...go for it. Everyone should own at least one SC in 35 Rem or 32 Win. Spl., maybe two? ;O)

If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

There was a Wrench thrown into the works; Someone traded in a brunette.in the form of a rifle I've always Wanted, a Ruger M44 Deerfield from 1962. I'm going there today to buy it. $599 and it's in absolutly perfect shape.
