Yesterday was opening day for elk in NW Oregon. Since I filled my tag in Eastern Oregon three weeks ago I went down to Corvallis to watch some college football. As I am downing my first of many items I receive a call that my sister in law just tagged out on the five point that has been behind my house. NICE!! More exciting than the game I was watching!!

Nice bull. The best elk are the ones out the back door. What did she shoot it with? Any more datails? Did you have it chained to a tree for her? Just kidding, she looks proud. Congrats to her.

Very nice and behind your house. I suspect the chain was used to drag or load it in the pickup, Congrats on a fine Bull.

This was another hard pack. If you have seen my dream bull posting, this is once again my Dad's Dodge. He just likes to drive around with large racks in the back!! She was shotinga 280 with 180 grain core locks. It helps to have patience and to be in the right place a the right time. In this case about 35 feet from the right place. It stopped in her shooting alley and she double lunged it! It ran just far enough out of the reprod fir patch to where the pickup couldonce again get along side. This time a tractor was used to load it. Hence the chain!
