Bought a Sako 995 yesterday in 7mm mag. I have several Sakos and thought I was up to snuff on all the models, but never heard of this one. Been told it's the sporter version of the TRG sniper rifle. Seems rock solid, with a great syn stock. Also my first 7mm, been shooting .308 and .300wsm. Wondering if there are any comments?

I had one in 30-378 mag. The full name on the operator manual was "Sako M995 TRG/S Magnum." It was a tremendous shooting rifle and caliber, but heavy to carry. Weatherby factory ammo was WAY overloaded for this rifle. It must be a very strong action to contain that much pressure. Primers fell out, and case heads expanded in excess of 0.005" (yes, five thousandths of an inch). Tremendous rifle!

I have one in 270 win. Bought it the year the sako 75 came out. They dropped the price almost in half. Newer is better you know. Its a little heavy. The action is so slick. Its my favorite deer rifle. Shoots better than me.

Was more known as the TRGS, came out right before the model 75 and was an offshoot of the TRG target rifle (same action) had one in .300 win mag and after getting the crown recut it shot moa or less with every load I tried. Great trigger and action.

Great rifle to turn into a 338 Lapua.

I have owned two. I had a 300 mag with 26 inch barrel and sold it. It shot very well. I still have a 7X64. It shoots under an inch always. They are heavy. They lack a recoil lug and instead have a recess in the action and a stud in the stock.
