Wow did this happen very fast.
I've been nursing a bit of a tweeked low back for a few days, but dang it the whities round here were in the seeking mode big time, so off I went for another sit in the hot spot. I sat till 9:00AM and hobbled back to the truck kind of pizzed off, as I did'nt even see a doe that morning.
I get in the truck pop a few "Vitamin I"(Ibuprofin)
and start heading to home, I drive past my Cousin's place, and as I crest the hill there he is out in the middle of nothing. I jump out of the truck, curse my back, waddle over to the fence, and lay one into him. He jumps and takes off with his right ear inches from the ground. And disapears into the bush.
I drive back to my Cousin's, park the truck, and set off to see how ugly of job I've got ahead of me.
The walk actually loosened up my back not bad (or was it the Vitamin I) I find the buck piled up about 50 yds in, with a broken front right wheel.
I perform the deed, slap the tag on him, and proceed to drag him out of the bush, and another 50 yds to a good spot I can get the truck to. I walk back to the truck, drive down, and drag his now gutted 200lb carcass into the back of the truck (where's your family when you need them)

I start off home, and as soon as I hit the pavement there is another hunter I know, we stop exchange pleasentries, and he says he'd take a few pics of me and my deer, for me out in the field(where were you an hour ago!)
So here he is.

270 WSM, LH Mod 70 CL,II Sporter, 4200 4-16x40, 130gr. NAB. I never lasered him, but having decked a few coyotes in that same field I'd say he was about 380yds.

I also found this in my stored pics from this summer.

It's a pity his Left hand G2 was broken off, and it was pretty fresh too I'd say within the past 48 hours.

Thank godness I put a winch in the garage.

Neat that you got the same deer on a game cam pic at the same angle as your field pic. He put on a few pounds since August.

I know what you go though with the back pain. That's a tough deal.

Congrats on a fine buck! 380 yds? What did you use for a rest?
