I need some help guys... is there a type of competative shooting that limits the magnification of the riflescopes used? Please inform this novice when it come to competitive shooting. Thanks! Are standard (3-9x / 4-12x) variables used much? Ovis_Chaser

IBS Hunter and Varmit Hunter classes are limited to 6X power scopes for score matches. Factory class can use any power, you'd be limiting your chance for success with the two scopes you've listed if you were shooting factory class.

Depends on the competition you have in mind when it comes to the two scopes you listed.

I'm not aware of anybody using them. Most 3-9 or 4-12 are not the type and quality used in comps. that I am familiar.
