I missed out on a 1920 the same way a couple weeks ago, same bidder. I said at the time, I feel like someone sneaked in my back door and I'm not talkig about my house.

I believe that all of these auction sites should be strict on closing auctions early. I have personally made out well at times by contacting sellers and making a deal first. On the other hand, an auction should be required to be just that, an auction. Until the auction sites change their requirements, we have no right to complain...!!! Don (loggah), Stephen (LBK), I am by no means whatsoever sticking up for the buyer, but if the GB system allows this to happen, then we really can't complain about buyers who take advantage of the loophole... This is not just my opinion, it is reality...!!!

Let me know your thoughts. (gently please... grin grin grin)

There might be enough threads going for rickbinn to start a "Whining about what Steve does forum" then you could sticky your "I was selling two rifles" story and dot have to keep typing it over and over again.

Ive emailed sellers and asked if they where interested in closing early for X and dont feel bad about it. Ive been asked buy sellers if I could send funds quickly because they would end the auction early if I could, needed the funds.

Accept it, thats the way it works here on the internet. No rules, crazy porn and earth shattering auction closings.

If your not part of the solution ,your part of the problem!! that easy enough!! your one of those guys to ,well at least you admit it! hows that easy enough, if the seller drops dead then his auction should close early, other than that let the ball roll. Don

Don, just to reiterate what i said...

GB allows this, you can't fault anyone for taking advantage of what is acceptable as per GB rules and regs. Again, I do not believe that it is right... You just can't fault "ANYONE" for taking advantage of what is considered by GB as being acceptable practice...!!!

Sorry... I did not know that metal and wood could get anyone so passionately angry. I would feel your anger about my children, but never about material objects...!!! JMO

Pretty much seems to be the same person, doing this! over & over, maybe G.B. will wise up, I know I stop bidding when I see who it is, as they will go for it at any cost, same for e-bay hard to buy anything that says Savage anymore! sad but true!

OK Don... "Ethics". Honestly, if you wanted something and had the cash to buy it, would you say. "ah, let someone else buy this". Probably not. Don, believe me please, I have no beef with you or anyone considering this matter, I am just playing devils advocate with my opinions. Truth be known though, if I found "K". and I collected 99's extensively, why would I not make the offer to get it before anyone had the opportunity. I would be stupid to pass. Am I missing something...???

On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the scout law, to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally strong, unless there's a loop hole, go for what the main stream gets away with.

I made my pop corn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and I watched Jeff Foxworthy's show,,,,,,,,"Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader". At least it was entertaining and educational. I know a cretain fella that had some friends in the northeast and pretty much lost 'em all. Like I said, I'm happy being a bottom feeder with friends than all alone being the top dog!!!!! Sooner or later everyone will wise up. Shame on you if you do it to me once, but shame on me if you do it to me twice.

thats an absolute for a private sale ,or in a gunshop! no problems .you don't "find" a object on a auction site, and i have offered guns to other people i have had the money to buy , including the party were talking about here, ask him who told him to buy the best savage he owns!! i could have bought it,i didn't have to tell him to buy it because it was a good deal. were just talking about calling sellers up and making deals to get auctions closed early. Ok... Point taken... But I have to add that the sellers of these items are actually the culprits then... Making an offer for something in human nature. Taking up on the offer is a thought about decision. I would think then that the sellers would be considered 95% the problem and the buyers only 5% of the problem... JMO... Again, not taking sides, just making interesting conversation...!!! smile
