I was wondering if anybody knew where I could get a .243 barrel for one of these.

I have same rifle in 270. You might contact Mossberg, see if they have any barrels left or if they can point you in some direction.

I've sent them an e-mail. Haven't heard from them yet.

I would also like to know the answer to your question, since the SSi disappeared not long after I acquired one with a .270 barrel and a rifled slug barrel. They were very nice rifles, and I often wondered why Mossberg dropped them so quickly.

Yeah, they were nice guns. I still haven't got an answer from the e-mail. Maybe I'll try calling them.

I considered buying one, but was concerned about their history of short production runs and then not supporting their rifles.

I have one someone converted to 223 AI. It's a good shooter but I can't say that AI'ing a 223 will give it THAT much more velocity. Since Mossberg stopped making them I am concerned I'll burn the throat out if I use a lot of hot 223 loads. So, I have only shot some mid range loads. kwg
