I'm looking at a new purchase, and can't decide which one I should get.

7mm Rem Express
or

280 Rem...

Any and all advice is gratefully accepted.

It depends on whether or not you're going to leave it original. A 280AI is awesome but whoever heard of a 7mm express Ackley improved.

cheers,

Everyone knows .280 knocks em flat while anything 7mm is an open range caliber.

Buy one of each - one or the other is sure to be a collectors item and I hear the ammo is interchangeable. grin

I saw a interesting rifle in a Portland pawn shop a short time ago.

Rem Model 30 Express in 7mm caliber, IIRC.

So, it is sort of a 7mm Rem Express.

Whatever you do, don't try putting a 7mm express in a 280 rem chamber. It'd be like trying to shoot a 6mm rem in a 244. That dang metric system will surely be the undoing of civilization as we know it.

The only thing worse than them foreign cartridges is the offspring. Who would ever want something like the 6.5x284? grin
