I am impressed with the strength of this action. Was in Burdetts today. Some guy brought in his 243 99F with a frozen bolt. Seems he had loaded and fired a 250 Savage in it. Bolt was split, frame warped and stretched and bbl bulged but no damage to shooter. Seems he had mismarked his reloads. That is one good action.

I also am interested in the buttstock for the 99F as it sounds like the idgit trashed the barrel and receiver.jim

Actually, I was thinking that the amount of pressure that would destroy an action, would probably destroy the the stock too.

Stock was ok as far as I could see but I went back to chec k and it was in fact split/cracked. Everything looked good. Bbl and receiver were trashed but you could not see it from the outside and that is all I could see.
