I have a S&W backpacker and after I shoot the brass will not come out of the cylinder without forcibly tapping the ejection rod. It does it with factory and handloads.
I've been told I have oblong chambers. Does this sound right? Its been this way for the 3 years I've had this gun.
I dont shoot t that much but its annoying when I do.
Anybody have any ideas?

You could try polishing the chambers, but if you do indeed have chambers that are not true, then you will need to take it to a S&W warranty center or send it to S&W. It would be fixed for free. I would just send it to S&W so you know it will be done right. Some warranty centers are not allowed to fit new cylinders, so sending it to the factory would be a good choice.
..............Celt

I would suggest MIKING your fired cases at various points, this will tell you right away ifyou have oval chambers, or roll them on a flat surface and watch them. Compare them to other rounds fired in a different weapon. If indeed they are oval, I WOULD NOT FIRE THE WEAPON UNTIL S&W FIXED THE PROBLEM.
If not maybe polishing the chambers would help.
Just my two cents, hope it helps.
Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.
When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.
PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.
