I shoot a knight rolling block!I use 777 209 primers with 777 lose powder.I've been getting alot of misfires. My dad has the same set up with the smae problem. The Guns are always kept clean.Breech plugs are clean.Powder is fresh and dry.I do everything to prevent this and still misfires.Opening day in MA. it took 4 caps to go off.Im god damm pissed! If I saw a deer that day I would throw the gun at em!Is ther any better primers.Im not happy with the 777 caps!

Hayen is right on the primers but I suspect another issue is not solved. If you place your breech plugs up to a light bulb can you see light pass thru the breech plug?? Make sure the primer vent hole that the powder rests against is clear.

I'd have to agree with the Winchester's. I have tryed some of the new Remingtons that are supposed to be cleaner burning, and they are but I don't know how hot they are.

I 2nd the welding tip cleaner & CCIM primers. Just because you can see through the BP hole does not mean it is totally clean & open.

Yup, and I took it a step further for my KP1...

Had one of those T/C flash hole pokers laying around here, the one with the bent brass tube and the spring loaded retractable wire.

I straightened the brass tube, which happens to fit exactly inside the "bore" of my KP1's breech plug. I then replaced the wire with the proper sized torch tip cleaner for the flash hole, and made the retractable attribute work again to keep the tip cleaner safe and protected.

Works like a champ, and I use it after every shot..........

I've been told by numerous individuals that Winchester doesn't make a "magnum" 209 because their standard grade is already hotter than other makers magnums.......
