I am looking for a LH Short Action Remington 700 action that I can make a lightweight rifle out of. I still haven't chosen what caliber I want but I have a few in mind.
Send me a PM if you have a LH Action, barreled action, or rifle you want to get rid of.
I've been looking for one to build a .223 for the kids. No go.

My favorite gun shop just got in two short action left hand BDL's. 308 & 243, they also have it in 30-06 and 270. Two LH Weatherby, 270WM, and 338/378 Remingtons are new, Weatherby's are used. I'm sure they'd even send them to Kalifornia

They will. I just bought a left handed M70 Safari Express from a shop in Clare, Michigan. They were very nice about it and they are shipping it to my dealer here in Commiefornia.

When you get a line on donor left hand short actions in the $300 range give me a call. While you may find donor actions bargin priced from time to time in either right hand or left hand long action, the short ones are well kept secrets.

Well - I already have 4 of them. All have been good to great shooters. So much to the point that 3 of 4 have left me without much to tinker with. However they are all long action and somewhat heavy. Savage rifles are without a doubt good shooters and they have been very reliable for me. However, they are after all a Savage and I just cannot get too excited about dressing one up.
I want a LH Remington 700 SA to build an UL rifle on in either .250 AI or .260 Remington.
I do have 1 Savage project underway now though. I have a LH Boyd's JRS laminated stock that I am putting my 111 GL in .250 Savage in. It won't be a lightweight though - even with a skinny barrel it will be about 8# with the scope! After a lot of barrel break in and polishing that rifle will shoot 1.5" groups at 200 yards with a cold or warm barrel and multiple loads. However, I would still like a Remington 700 custom job that weighs about 6#.
If I were to buy a Montana Rifleman SA it would most likely become a 6.5x55 Swede. That SA is a good bit longer than the Remington or the Ruger. My Smith claims that 3 or the 4 Montana Rifleman actions he's recently built rifles on have taken a lot of work to get them where he thought they were useable. I am skeptical of paying $520 for LH MRC SS action at this point.
