It's really not surprising at all considering craze over political correctness that seems to afflict nearly everyone I meet. Right here on the very website there are those who feel the need to impose their own standards on others as to what constitutes a photo suitable to display. The anti-hunting crowd hate us all, is it necessary to make an effort to avoid offending them. If I am functioning within the law and my own set of morals then to heck with what someone I fundamentally disagree with thinks. I recently engaged in a discussion with an individual on the predators and varmints section of this site who feels that leghold traps are somehow inhumane and yet he knew nothing of trapping to back up his comments. My point is that he was simply saying what he thought was the politically correct thing in that situation. The anti crowd has been very successful in painting trapping as a barbaric sport, not because it is, rather because there are those who are willing to believe whatever seems to be the PC explanation. The same goes for "assault weapons", all of us know that the hype surrounding this issue is BS, but to the uninformed PC crowd it sounds like the right thing to do. It's not just schools, it's liberal/urban America, too much fluff!!!

It's not just schools, it's liberal/urban America, too much fluff!!! Brought up a question I have been wondering about. Does anyone know if the D.C> Sniper ever fired a second shot? I don't think her/thery did. Seems to show that banning assualt weaopns would not have helped. He could have done the same thing with a Handi-Rifle. The reall issue with the D.C. Sniper was that he was a Deranged, but Disciplined Rifleman, a terribly dangerous combination. More imporantly, we cannot protect ourselves from deranged and disturbed people (except Flinch, of course ..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />). Banning a tool, does not solve the problem. BMT
