Hey guys,
I have a question that I was hoping someone could answer for me. I have a 700 classic in 350mag, it is the bdl style with flootplate etc. I picked up a adl style stock from SitkaDeer the other day. The problem was that I of course needed a new trigger guard(I should have thought of that), so I just recieved the trigger guard, magazine and magazine follower today,,I put everything together except for the front screw on the trigger guard.First I don't have that screw, and second, even if I did have that screw, I don't see were it would thread into, are the adl and bdl/classic actions different? is their someway I can overcome this short of carving the stock out to accept the floorplate assembly? I like the idea of the blind magazine, and would like to keep it like that,,but I can't shoot the thing with only one screw in the triggerguard either, any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks,,BEARHUNTER

The forward trigger guard screw threads into the adl action, but it is very small. Its only point is to hold on the trigger guard, but it can cause problems, accuracy wise. I have seen some bdl actions with the hole, some without. I would guess you are not overlooking one.
If you do have and use the screw, tighten it up hand tight and then back off at least 1/4 turn.
You can install a big thread, short wood screw in a wad of thick epoxy to hold the threads. I prefer leaving them as adls also.
best to you
art

------------------
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly gun.
