Small bull, small rifle...was out coyote hunting and ran into this bull. Shot was from the black ridge behind me with a .220 swift. Dan, couldnt say in hours....probably more in terms of weeks and months! And on other places on this same website folks want to debate the use of centerfire .22 on pronghorn or deer! Great bulls, SS and Greenhorn, thanks for sharing. PS- Can you guys actually feel others envy?

What a bullfest! Great photos and animals!
Dan, I'm not a logger unless you count cutting down a Christmas tree in the winter. I work in an office. I don't scout nearly as much as I used to.

I've got a serious question for Pat and Kurt...
How many hours a year do you guys log in the field scouting?? Its obvious that you've both "figured something out" with both Mulies and Elk. Good question - was thinking the same thing. Was also wondering A. how far back in, B. does backpacking/spike camp play into the equation.
Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it.

Growing up I'd get lost if I couldn't see the Froid elevators, it's even worse in the mtns.. Thankfully I pack a GPS, spare batteries, and a big buck knife in my fanny pack now.

Here's a neat shot of my best archery bull, just after boning and putting in pillow cases and before sneaking it off of Ted Turner's ranch. Notice the arrow hole in the heart. The purple pillow cases are from K-Mart, I believe the "Martha Stuart Collection" of linens.. this is the step just prior to putting them into ziplock sandwich bags.

The guy who took the largest on that hunt returned to NM again this year in a fairly easy to draw unit, that isn't well known for big bulls.. he's had good luck in MT too. 2001 archery MT, public land 2003 MT rifle, public land

This is where his bull ended up this year.. wrapped around a tree after a little sliding down the mtn. He made a good shot at 600 yards.
