Savage 16 Weather Warrior 22/250 55gr Nosler BTSP, 34grs H4895 Extreme, CCI 200, R-P brass. Range finder - 240 yards.
Black Coyote could be a good omen for the new rifle.

Congrats roundoak! Way to break in the new rifle. I'd love to take a black yote some day but haven't ever seen one in these parts.

Way to break in a new rifle. A black yote is a rarity where I hunt, congratulations.

Congrat's! Of all the coyotes I've seen I have never seen a black one. I have friend that claims there is one on his farm, maybe we'll see... smile

Roundoak: I have never seen an all black Coyote (well yours is 95%+ black) before.
I have seen and shot Coyotes with patches of black on their pelts but never one anywhere near as "black" as the one you harvested.
Good for you.
I also would like to know which state this predator lived in?

Sorry for the late reply VarmintGuy

Coyote shot in Wisconsin.

A "standard" coyote came out of the woods first, the black shortly after. At 240 yards with the naked eye, did a double take...thought it was a dog. Cranked scope up to 9 power, cradled the outfit in the sticks...and the rest is history.

Nice....I also have a buddy who tells me he has a black coyote on his farm. Still looking for that one. Glad to know there are a few around the country.
