Sure they are pricey, but the gun and service reputation is quite respectable from some of the stories I've heard over the years.
Just heard another from Mom. She works with a guy who "blew up" his Renegade [?]. How??? I figure he stacked two charges (forgot to unload last year) perhaps he loaded smokeless??? at any rate, off to T/C he goes with his Renegade with the split barrel.
Result? "We dont have this model anymore, here's a new Omega instead......O.k.? " "Have a nice day."
THAT'S ! standing behind your warrentee !!
I agree that T/C has excellent warranty service, probably the best in the business. They also make excellent products. However, I don't understand why they replaced a split Renegade barrel with an entire Omega rifle. T/C does still offer the Renegade Hunter and Hawken models, which are much closer to a "like kind" rifle than an Omega. If it was just the barrel that was damaged, T/C still has original equipment barrels available for the Renegades, as well as all other replacement parts.
There has to more to this story than what you related. I'm not at all suggesting your mother is lying, but perhaps the guy who told her about this incident left out, or changed, some pertinent details.
